The Whiteman Park International Pistol Club is one of the largest pistol shooting clubs in Western Australia, boasting a membership of around 120 people. It is located in a bushland setting within the Whiteman Park ballistic sport complex, on the outskirts of Perth City. It's objective is to foster competitive target shooting in Olympic and other shooting disciplines, catering for sportsmen and women in the northern and eastern areas of Perth

The club was formed in 1993 through an amalgamation of three metropolitan pistol clubs, Wanneroo, ACD and Postels, with a view to establishing Perth's premium pistol shooting facilities at Whiteman Park alongside other existing sports such as archery and clay target.

Initially shooting took place on the existing ramshackle live fire range at Wanneroo and a temporary air range at Balcatta. Before long a new air range was established in a disused shed at Whiteman Park. The planning, funding and approval process to construct a high standard live fire range took many years and much work by the committee, followed by hours of physical work by the many skilled tradesmen in the club. In February 1999 the dreams came to fruition with the opening ceremony of a gleaming new range at Whiteman Park.

Today the club boasts:

  • three, 8 bay 25m ranges with turning targets;
  • a 19 bay 50m range with static targets;
  • a three competitor 50 yard service pistol range with turning targets;
  • an action match range including two sets of air operated falling plates and mover;
  • a 11 bay 10m air pistol range with wind-back targets; and
  • a club house with basic kitchen facilities.

The Whiteman Park International Pistol Club is affiliated with the West Australian Pistol Association . Through the state association we are affiliated to Pistol Australia, the Australian Shooting Association, the Australian Olympic Council, the International Olympic Federation and the International Shooting Sport Federation.
